Biography
A native of Asheville, Olivia Hillard began gymnastics competitively at the age of 7, where she took her first dance class and fell in love. She then started training and performing at WNC Dance Academy. She was quickly elevated to the senior advanced company, training under Tina Simms, Becky and Jeff Ewing, Gavin Stewart, and Vanessa Owen. With a strong discipline in jazz, contemporary, and acro, Olivia was recognized for her standout routines and has earned regional titles. Olivia made her professional debut as a main dancer in the MOVE;MEANT A.R.T Expo.
Olivia was an excellent student, both in dance and in her academic schoolwork. She was awarded a scholarship to Jacksonville University, where she attended for a semester studying health science and was a member of the Sirens Dance team. Olivia then pivoted to continue her education in Asheville and work in her chosen career at Momentum Dance. She has always wanted to teach young dancers and is so excited to be the Co-Director for the MDP/MDP2 Company. She will also be the main teacher for the Momentum Dance Club. Olivia looks forward to continuing her growth as a dancer, performing artist, and dance instructor.
